Day 140 – Invercargill to Awarua

Not a lot of sleep at the Backpackers, too many Bogans driving up and down the main street outside. 2nd Breakie at the Café then off along the Estuary Walkway towards Bluff. A brief break and a stop for lunch took us to the main road where the weather deteriorated to rain and gale force winds. Carried on a few more kms then managed to hitch back to Invercargil. Not many kms today, savouring our last days on the trail.

  1. Just checked my emails to find your “spotter” check-in and see that you are in Bluff! Congratulations! Fabulous achievement! I’m so excited for you Rick, Rene and Mike, and all the others who joined Team Camino Te Araroa on the trail and shared their “living the dream” moments along the way. Woo-hooo, time to relax and enjoy the moment! Love, Yvonne xxx

    • The pleasure has been all ours. It’s been lovely sharing the trail with you and especially having the opportunity to walk with Anna – she is the most wonderful person that you can be very proud of. We also enjoyed having Julia join us, a shame she couldn’t stay longer. All the best! Regards aus New Zealand
